Origins Whale Tail Inlay Pendant A pair of sterling silver wale tail fin shaped drop earrings, set with inlays of paua shell. Paua is the Mauri name used for what the Americans and Australians call abalone and the British call ormer. It a sea mollusc which is a common seafood, with the shell being used for decorative homewares and jewellery. The shells have lovely colour iridescence of greens, blues and purples which make it very desirable. The tail fin measures 16mm long by 23mm wide.
