These might be five star for “weed whacking” except the straps are a bit short if you have large calves and I doubt the elastic will hold up. The protectors themselves are light but flexible and tough enough. A little padding in the back is sufficient and may protect some for wood splitting/brush cutting. Better than nothing for sure and not a lot of options that I could find.
