I am a hobby wood worker and spend a lot of time using hand planes and carving tools that must be sharpened by hand and not having a grit finer than 2000, I grabbed this one to put the finish I need on a few of my blades. I am not sure which sharpening system uses this type of setup but I was able to secure this in my vice so it would be of use. I can create a better holding jig later so I won’t need to use the vice every time I need to use this stone.I will say this leaves you with a super fine blade but may not be the best thing for some types of steels/tools. I did test it on several types of blades/metals to see what it was capable of handling and it did a super nice job on my CPM S30V, 154CM & VG10 knives.I typically sharpen my blades using Arkansas stones and love the way they get my edges but this corundum did a really nice job finishing my blades. It may make me rethink some of the stones I have been using for certain steels.
