Sterling Silver Carnelian Studs A pair of carnelian half drilled bead sterling silver studs. All components of these stud earrings have been sourced by ourselves and they have been assembled in house. Each carnelian bead measures 6mm in diameter and is completely spherical and nestles snuggly into the cup and post fitting. The carnelian gemstone gets its colour from the impurities of iron oxide with its varying shades of brown to red. Its name derives from the Latin cornum meaning the cornel cherry, which is similarly coloured. These semi-precious bead studs have been tumbled, polished and drilled, then they have been attached to a sterling silver stem and then a recycled sterling silver butterfly has been fitted to complete the earrings.
